Bus Accident in Flatbush Leaves 15 People Injured

A bizarre bus accident in New York City left at least 15 people injured earlier this month. 13 of those treated were passengers on the bus. The remaining two were city employees operating the sanitation truck that struck the bus. Initial reports indicate that there was also an automobile involved but the NYPD has yet to release the complete results of their crash investigation.

Falling Tree Kills One, Injures 5 Others at Backyard Party

A happy Mother's Day celebration turned tragic when winds caused a tree to snap and fall on a gathering of family members in New Jersey. The victims were in the backyard of a home for a family cookout when a large tree snapped nearly in half. An early evening bike accident in Queens ended with a 16-year-old boy in the hospital and police searching for not one but two hit-and-run drivers. The young man, Andre Brandon Gonzales, was riding his bike in front of his grandmother's house on 143rd Street around 7 PM on May 8th when he was struck by two cars. Eyewitnesses saw both drivers simply cover their faces and keep on driving as if nothing had happened.

Near Drowning Accident in Long Island Avoided by Brave Teenager

A drowning accident in Long Island nearly claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy earlier this week. Joey George was with relatives at reception at a private home following a funeral when he somehow ended up in a manmade pond in the backyard. The adults at the gathering let the little boy slip from their watch for just a few moments but that was all it took for the curious young child to fall into the icy waters.

Taxi Accident in the Bronx Kills Passenger

The passenger in a livery cab was killed earlier this week when the vehicle he was riding in smashed into a concrete barrier near a freeway onramp. The fatal taxi accident in New York City happened early on the morning of April 13th when the cab, driven by an unidentified 22-year-old man, jumped the curb near the entrance ramp of the Bronx River Parkway. On April 18th a fire broke out inside one of the units on the sixth floor of an apartment building located at 145 Lincoln Avenue. The call came in to FDNY dispatchers at 2:23 PM after residents in the building reported the blaze. Most were able to flee. At least one was trapped by the flames.

Worker Killed in Preventable Fall from Heights in Manhattan

A New York City construction accident investigators are calling completely "preventable" claimed the life of a man at a jobsite in Times Square earlier this week. 59-year old Jose Cruz was working 18-feet above the pavement at 1604 Broadway around midday on Wednesday April 12th when he slipped and fell from an I-Beam. He tumbled roughly one story and landed on the pavement below.
