Aggressive Driving Caused Bus Accident Injures 14 Witnesses Say

A crash in New Jersey last week is eerily similar to that of a New York City bus accident last winter which ended with the bus on the sidewalk and rescuers pulling innocent victims of the pavement. A loaded charter bus smashed into a traffic signal near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. 14 people suffered from what rescuers classified as “minor injuries” after the sudden stop. Several eye witnesses stated the crash was “unavoidable” because a reckless driver swerved into the bus’s travel lane an instant before the machine entered the Jersey City intersection.

Details are still forthcoming but it appears as if the crash occurred around 10:30 AM when a vehicle (driven by an unidentified individual) attempted to beat a red light while making a left turn and cutting in front of the bus. The bus, already in motion, couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the traffic signal as the driver tried desperately to avoid the car.

Thankfully none of the passengers in this latest bus crash were seriously injured-though several did report facial injuries caused by smashing their noses and mouths into the seats in front of them. After being checked by medical services at the scene, everyone was allowed onto other buses to make their respective ways home.

In New York City bus accidents such as this, negligent drivers will be held legally liable for injuries suffered by innocent passengers and pedestrians. These at fault drivers will be responsible for a victim’s injuries, hospital and medical expenses, pain and suffering and past, present and future lost wages.
