Deadly Bus Accident in New York City Leaves Cyclist Dead

A man was killed late last month when he was struck by an MTA bus while riding his bicycle in Brooklyn. The deadly bus accident in New York City happened on April 29th at around 4:30 in the afternoon in the northbound lane of Rogers Avenue in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. Reports from the scene state that the cyclist-a delivery rider-was struck while making a left turn onto Clarendon Road.

EMTs arrived quickly and rushed the victim to nearby Kings County Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The bus driver remained at the scene of the crash and was, reportedly, cooperating with NYPD investigators. The driver was not charged with any criminality but was himself transported to a hospital for psychological treatment.

While the NYPD declined to comment when asked for additional details about this latest deadly bus accident in Brooklyn by local news media outlets, a video released to the public seems to show the MTA bus traveling at a higher rate of speed than allowed along that stretch of road.

Additionally, independent investigators question the official narrative, stating that the video shows the bus traveling dangerously close to the cyclist before the accident occurred. Plus, the physical location of both vehicles after the collision (confirmed by photographic evidence) makes it hard to believe that the cyclist was indeed turning left at the time of the collision.

In confusing cases such as this, the victims and surviving family members of tragic accidents must use hard evidence to prove their cases and recover the financial compensation they deserve (pain and suffering, lost time from work from the date of the accident into the future and any unpaid medical or hospital bills). Having an experienced New York City bus accident lawyer on their side is the best (and smartest) way to do that.
