Subway Accident Claims Life of Commuter

A man was killed in a tragic subway accident in New York earlier this month while riding the R Train. The victim, an unnamed individual in his 40s-was on the R Train at around 1:15 PM in the afternoon of June 10 when tragedy struck. The man was attempting to move from one car to the next when he apparently slipped and fell. He was struck by the wheels of at least one following car.

Motorcycle Accident in The Bronx Leaves One Dead

A man was killed in a motorcycle accident earlier this month on Bruckner Boulevard in the Bronx. The individual was traveling westbound when his bike was apparently rear-ended by an automobile. While this type of motorcycle accident in New York City is not common, it can be just as deadly. EMTs rushed the man to Jacobi Medical Center but his wounds were too severe. He did not survive.

One Killed One Injured in Construction Accident in Manhattan

One worker was killed and another seriously injured in a construction accident in Manhattan late last month. The two men work on a jobsite located at 1227 Broadway when something went terribly wrong. Accident reports state that the victims were riding a construction elevator up at the site when one of the men was struck by a piece of metal that protruded into the elevator shaft. The individual was crushed and then tumbled out of the elevator. It's unclear how the second victim was injured.

Accident at Summer Camp Injures 12 Brooklyn Students

A camping accident in New York left 12 students from Brooklyn injured-at least seven of them seriously after an explosion in a rented bungalow. The students had just arrived at the camp in Orange County when they noticed a strong smell of gas coming from the kitchen area. Before the problem could be identified, there was a massive explosion which injured several of the victims and sparked a blaze that caught local firefighters off guard.

Falling Objects at Jobsites in New York Continue to Threaten Workers

According to national statistics falling objects at construction sites injured almost 16,000 workers around the country in 2014. Nearly 100 more were killed after being struck by objects, debris, tools, and building materials.
