A driver delivering produce to the Hunts Point Produce Market was killed in a truck accident in the Bronx early on the morning of August 30th. The man, 63-year old Hussain Abbas, had parked his vehicle and exited an instant before he was struck by an 18-wheel tractor-trailer which was backing up. EMS arrived on scene immediately and took the injured man to Lincoln Hospital. It's unclear if Mr. Abbas actually ended up beneath the vehicle or he was simply struck and fell down but reports show he was suffering from "severe body trauma." Doctors were unable to save his life.
