Trash Truck Causes Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Manhattan

A sanitation truck caused a fatal pedestrian accident in New York City earlier this week which claimed the life of 56-year old Jodi McGrath. According to published reports, Mrs. McGrath was crossing the street at the intersection of First Avenue and East 92nd Street on the Upper East Side just after 4 AM on March 15th when a sanitation truck crashed into her. The commercial truck accident in Manhattan appeared to be relatively insignificant at first.

School Bus Accident in Brooklyn Sends Victim to Hospital

An early morning school bus accident in Brooklyn on March 11th ended with 8 people injured--one of whom was sent to the hospital for treatment. The school bus - a mini-bus with an undisclosed number of passengers on board - was crossing the Brooklyn Bridge and had just reached the Tillary Street intersection when it collided with at least one (and possibly two) other vehicles. The crash occurred just before 8 AM when thousands of young children are on their way to schools across New York City.

Wrongful Arrest Lawsuit in New York City Stems from Incident Involving 3-Year Old

A father is suing the NYPD for wrongful arrest in New York City after he was "manhandled" and detained while carrying his three-year old son at the 2015 Christmas Tree Lighting in Rockefeller Center. It appears officers at the ceremony may have overreacted and used excessive force when Luther Louis-Jeune unknowingly approached an off-limits area. The situation quickly escalated and Mr. Louis-Jeune was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Those charges were subsequently dropped. Mr. Louis-Jeune has filed a false arrest lawsuit in New York City court seeking an unspecified amount of damages.

Investigators Probe Gruesome Subway Accident in New York City

Every year dozens of subway accidents in New York City call into question the safety of the mass transit system. On February 16th, 51-year old Edward Leonard got dragged behind a moving train. Investigators are still trying to get to the bottom of this latest fatal subway accident in New York City but it appears as if Mr. Leonard was entering the F Train at Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens Station in Queens when the doors closed on him. He somehow became trapped, could not was unable to free himself, and was pulled train for 20 yards before coming to a stop.
