A construction worker was seriously injured in an electrocution accident in Manhattan. The man was working at an apartment building under construction on Cherry Street when faulty wiring gave him a massive shock. FDNY first responders rushed to the scene and whisked the victim to a nearby hospital. He reportedly suffered severe burns to his hands, arms, neck, and head.

Falling Objects Accident in New York City Narrowly Avoids Tragedy

A terrifying falling objects accident in New York City earlier this month left passersby frightened but uninjured. The accident occurred at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on West Side Highway around 10 in the morning. A crew was on the site lifting heavy steel I-beams to an upper floor using a large crane when the beam in questions smashed into the structure and sent another beam tumbling to the scaffolding below. The scaffolding partially collapsed and debris spilled into the roadway.

A fatal bicycle accident in New York City involving a charter bus late last year has resulted in a conviction for the bus's driver. In 2017, a 36-year-old investment banker was riding a rented bicycle in Manhattan when he was struck and killed by a charter bus operated by Dave Lewis. An NYPD investigation into this fatal crash found that Lewis failed to yield the right of way to the victim and violated NYC traffic law. He was charged with multiple violations.

The students had just begun classes for the year at Stuyvesant High School when something went terribly wrong. Reports from the accident scene claim that a number of students were riding the escalator at around 3:45 PM when the machine malfunctioned.

An anti-gay abuse scandal that rocked Rikers Island in 2014 has resulted in a landmark settlement for the victims. The New York City prison assault took place on May 9th of that year when the victim, Thomas Hamm, was visiting an inmate at the correctional facility. According to Hamm's statement, when he greeted his same-sex partner with a hug and a kiss, he was ordered to stop by the guards overseeing the visitation despite the DOC's protocols which allow for such limited displays of affection.

Potential Deadly Case of Inmate Abuse in New York City has Many Questioning Safety at Rikers Island

Investigators are looking into a potential case of inmate abuse in New York City. Corrections officers in charge of overseeing a ward at Rikers Island prison facility in New York City failed to respond in time to save an inmate's life late last month. 43-year-old David McPeck was found "unresponsive" in his cell at Rikers at around 8:21 in the morning on August 29th. He would eventually be declared dead. And while inmate deaths inside Rikers Island are not unheard of, this particular incident has safety advocates questioning the facility's staff and their commitment to the wellbeing of inmates under their care.

Subway Accident in New York City Injures One and Shuts Down 2 Lines of Trains

A man was injured in a terrible subway accident in New York City this past August at a Sunset Park train station. The victim, a man, was struck by an incoming train while standing on the platform at around 4:40 in the afternoon. The 59th Street Station was closed down immediately after the crash while the victim was stabilized and an investigation begun.
