Truck Accident in New York City Claims Life of Young Man

A young man with a promising future was tragically killed in a fatal truck accident in New York City earlier this month. The 25-year-old aspiring pro wrestler was riding his bicycle near the end of the Willis Avenue Bridge in East Harlem on November 9th when he was struck by a dump truck. The driver left the scene of the crime though it's not certain whether he knew he struck the cyclist at the time of the accident.

Council Attempts to Reduce the Number of Elevator Accidents in New York City

There are thousands of elevators and mechanical lifts in New York City-many of which were initially constructed decades ago. And while the vast majority of these are in decent working order, if even a fraction of them malfunction, the number of tragic elevator accidents in New York City could continue to rise. Indeed, it does seem that in recent years the number of elevator malfunctions and outright safety violations resulting in serious injury and death in NYC has increased. Thankfully, the City Council has taken notice.

One Killed One Injured in Construction Accident in Manhattan

One worker was killed and another seriously injured in a construction accident in Manhattan late last month. The two men work on a jobsite located at 1227 Broadway when something went terribly wrong. Accident reports state that the victims were riding a construction elevator up at the site when one of the men was struck by a piece of metal that protruded into the elevator shaft. The individual was crushed and then tumbled out of the elevator. It's unclear how the second victim was injured.

Bus Accident in the Bronx Leaves Woman Critically Injured

A near-fatal bus accident in the Bronx late last month left a woman critically injured and fighting for her life. The accident occurred on October 29th near the intersection of Bedford Park Boulevard and Paul Avenue adjacent to Lehman College. The woman was crossing the street when a Bee-Line bus attempting a left turn struck her. The 52-year-old victim was pinned underneath the vehicle and had to be extricated by EMTS.

Falling Objects Accident in New York City Kills Construction Worker

A worker was killed in a fatal falling objects accident in New York City late last month. The victim was working with a demolition crew on October 21st at a jobsite located at 60 Norfolk Street on the Lower East Side in Manhattan when tragedy struck. The crew was part of a team cleaning up the remains of a historic synagogue that had previously burned when a massive wall collapsed, trapping the victims under tons of rubble.

Sidewalk Accident in Manhattan Leaves Woman Battered but Okay

A woman was injured in a temporary sidewalk accident in Manhattan late last month after she fell into a pit. The victim was walking along a stretch of sidewalk near Madison Square Garden on October 18th around 3PM when the walking surface failed and she fell about 5 feet into a hole.

Man Killed in Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Brooklyn

A man was killed in a collision with an automobile in Brooklyn earlier this month. The fatal pedestrian accident in New York City happened on October 7th around 7 PM when an SUV slammed into a man crossing the street at the intersection of Avenue V and Ford Street.  The victim was rushed to Coney Island Hospital by an EMS team who tried valiantly to save him. He died at the hospital.

Bicycle Accident in Queens Leaves Family Reeling

A 65-year-old man was killed in a fatal bicycle accident in Queens earlier this month along a dangerous stretch of the Cross Bay Boulevard. The man was riding his bike north near Fourth Street when he was struck by an SUV. The collision was loud enough that people inside nearby homes came to see what had happened. When rescue crews and accident investigators arrived at the scene of the crash, they found the man unconscious and unresponsive. By the time he arrived at a nearby hospital, he had succumbed to his injuries.
