The officers couldn’t pull the dogs off the man and were forced to euthanize both of them on the scene.
The victim, identified by the press as Paul Davis, was rushed to Kings County Hospital with severe lacerations on his arms and legs. He is expected to recover but will be left with permanent scarring and possible nerve damage after the vicious mauling he underwent.
The dogs were reportedly owned by 26-year-old Devon Dixon, the victim’s roommate. Dixon told the press that he “rescued” the dogs from a neighbor’s yard in which they had been tied up for an undisclosed amount of time. The frightening dog attack in Bushwick happened while Dixon was hosting a party in the apartment building but there’s no word on what set the two animals off.
