Terrifying Car Crash in Manhattan Leaves Three Injured

On Behalf of | Sep 11, 2020 | Firm News

Three people were injured when an out-of-control car crashed into an outdoor dining area at an eatery in Manhattan late last month. The shocking car crash in New York City left two victims stunned and injured while eyewitnesses scrambled to help those who were injured.

Reports from the scene of the crash state that just after 9:30 on the evening of August 25th, a Cadillac Escalade rammed into the barriers set up outside Delizia ( a restaurant located at the corner of 92nd Street and Second Avenue. The impact splintered the wooden barrier that the restaurant had used to block off their outdoor dining area and tore a canopy down on top of the victims.

When EMTs arrived, they treated two individuals for minor injuries. At least one driver involved in the collision was taken to the hospital with injuries that were classified as non-life-threatening. While it isn’t exactly clear what caused the crash, a second vehicle may have been involved in the chaos.

If so, determining and then proving liability could be tricky. Could the injured victims seek compensation for their injuries and lost time from work from the restaurant because their barriers perhaps extended into the street more than they should have? Should they look only to the driver and owner of the Escalade or is the other driver and owner involved in the crash also responsible because of this car may have as well contributed to the cause of this accident?

Untangling the legal liability in a confusing case like this is best left to the professionals. In order to have a successful result, a proper investigation has to be conducted. That’s why, if you’ve been injured in a similar accident, you should seek the help of an experienced car accident attorney in New York City.
